The Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness (IRE) can assist units with academic program assessment, academic program review, and accreditation. Our staff are available to consult with programs on such issues as:
- designing an assessment strategy appropriate for your program
- sample assessment materials from other departments and institutions
- development of measurable student learning goals
- planning for data collection and analysis
- survey research
- providing survey data (e.g., Senior Survey, Graduate Student Exit Survey) for use in program assessment, program review, and accreditation
- information on retention rates and graduate school destinations
- identifying appropriate standardized tests
- feedback and coaching on self-study assessment sections
- feedback and coaching on assessment reports
In addition to the services offered by IRE, the Center for Faculty Development can organize focus groups around aspects related to learning with current or graduating students in your program. To plan a student focus group, please contact Donna Troka at dtroka@emory.edu.
