16th Annual NCBI Campus Conference
November 13 - 15, 2008

Host Campus

The NCBI (National Coalition Building Institute) Campus Conference 2008 will be held at Emory University in Atlanta, GA from November 13 - November 15, 2008.

Emory University is located just 15 minutes from downtown Atlanta. It is home to nine major academic divisions and a host of affiliated institutions including The Carter Center and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.   • 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM........Optional pre-conference tour of The King Center
  • 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.........Emory hosts informal meet and greet for NCBI participants

Thursday, November 13, 2008

  • 8:00 AM..................Registration & Breakfast (provided at Emory)
  • 9:00 AM..................Conference begins (details TBD)
  • 5:00 PM..................Adjourn, shuttle ride to hotel

The host hotel is the beautiful JW Marriott Hotel. Located in the heart of sophisticated Buckhead and connected by enclosed promenade to Lenox Square Mall, the hotel features the best shopping and dining in Atlanta. Driving Directions: Take I-85 N to GA 400 N. Take exit 2 (Lenox Road). Turn right onto Lenox Rd. Go 3 traffic lights to entrance of Lenox Square Mall. Turn right into Mall and immediate left on access road. Follow signs to hotel. Hotel on right.

Alternate Transportation:

Daily Conference Transportation: Transportation from the hotel to the conference on the Emory Univeristy Campus will be provided by Emory's Shuttle System. Cost is included in your registration fee. Shuttle schedules will be provided.

Pre-Conference Tour of the MLK Center

On November 12, 2008 the Emory University Office of Community and Diversity will host and provide round trip transportation for a tour of the Martin Luther King National Historic Site. Tour hours are from 10am - 2pm. The tour will include a visit to The King Center Library, Exhibits and Archives, Birth Place, Eternal Flame, Gravesite and the historical Ebenezer Baptist Church. Participants will be picked up and dropped off at the host hotel. To sign up for this activity, please be sure to select it on the registration form.
