Emory recognizes the importance of its faculty to its overall success. Faculty shape the university’s academic direction. They are main contributors to an educational and scholarly environment that emphasizes excellence in teaching, learning, and scholarship. An excellent faculty attracts exceptional undergraduate and graduate students, serves as role models for the next generation of faculty, and creates new knowledge thereby advancing humanity. The “great scholars, great works” website includes a sample of Emory’s intellectual community. It is by no means complete and its main purpose is to provide a sample of scholarship of Emory faculty while highlighting strengths in the arts and sciences as well as the professional schools and in interdisciplinary scholarship.
