CARTER CENTER LIASON
The Past Chair of the Faculty Council serves as the Council's standing representative on the board of the Carter Center.

DISTINGUISHED FACULTY LECTURE SERIES
This committee, headed by the chair-elect of the Faculty Council, is responsible for administering the Distinguished Faculty Lecture Series, an annual lecture initiated and supported by the Office of the President. This committee is comprised of Distinguished Faculty Lecturers from previous years who meet to select a nominee for the 2007-2008 Distinguished Faculty Lecture.

FACULTY COUNSELORS COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Committee is to assemble the faculty counselors of the Board of Trustees as needed to compare experiences of service on Board of Trustees committees and to bring reports to Faculty Council regarding the general benefits of the duties involved with their service, suggestions regarding how to conduct and evaluate their service, and any issues that arise in their ability to perform their service.

FACULTY HEARING COMMITTEE
The Committee is a standing committee of the University Faculty Council. The Chair is elected by the members of the committee and serves as an ex officio member of the Faculty Council. There are five members of the committee, chosen from tenured faculty by the Executive Committee of the Faculty Council in consultation with the Provost. Members serve two-year terms.

FACULTY LIFE COURSE COMMITTEE
This Committee addresses issues likely to enhance faculty life at Emory University across the academic span, from junior faculty to emeritus status. Features targeted should be those likely to improve academic productivity, facilitate faculty retention, and augment the quality of life and sense of community for faculty at Emory.

The University Research Committee (URC) is a standing committee. The Committee's charge is to administer the Research Fund established by the Provost, in close cooperation with the Vice-President of Research.
