Dear Emory Student or Member of Our Emory Family:

On behalf of the healthcare professionals and health educators that make up the staff of Emory University Student Health Services (EUSHS), I welcome you to our growing and improving EUSHS website. It is the goal of this website to provide you with important information about student health services on our campus, keep you up-to-date about new programs and services, and give you access to important EUSHS forms, documents and health information. We welcome your feedback about this website, including ways that we can improve it to better serve your needs and the needs of our Emory community.

Our mission at Emory University Student Health Services is to empower students to take responsibility for their health and to complement the academic mission of the university by providing unified services that are comprehensive, accessible and result in a healthy campus culture.  This mission is accomplished via the following strategies:

• Providing high quality, accessible, cost effective clinical and health education services that address students' health and wellness needs.
• Providing a professional and positive environment for meeting students' health needs.
• Maintaining a program that is sensitive to student/consumer needs, driven by strategic planning, and subject to systematic evaluation.

We have designed this website to further our mission of care and service. In navigating our website, you might pay special attention to the following:

· “What’s New” items: In these sections, we will highlight important new policies and procedures, new or enhanced services, changes in hours (breaks, holidays) and the like. This is a good way to keep up with important and exciting changes at EUSHS.

· “A Parent’s Guide to Healthcare at Emory University Student Health Services”: This is a full-text version of the document sent to the parents of each and every new Emory undergraduate student. It gives an excellent and comprehensive overview of EUSHS and our services written with parents in mind.

· “Health Topics A to Z”: This Spring and Summer, we will be building a new section of our website, which will feature brief essays on common health topics written by members of our EUSHS clinical, nursing and health education staff. These topics will be selected and written specifically with the healthcare and wellness needs of Emory students in mind. They will also feature links to further information about the given topic(s). These links will be to reputable, high quality health information sites on the worldwide web, including:

Ø www.cdc.gov, the website of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Ø www.ashastd.org, the website of the American social Health Association.

· “Immunization Information”: Information about Emory’s vaccination requirements for enrolled students

· “Entrance Medical Record Form”: A copy of our most recent Entrance Medical Record Form completed by all new and transfer Emory students at the time of matriculation.
