Emory University Elects Three New Trustees

Russell R. French, partner with Noro-Moseley Partners venture capital firm, has been elected one of three new trustees of Emory University's 39-member governing board of trustees. He was elected to a six-year term as an alumni trustee on the board.

The other new board members are alumni trustee Wendell S. Reilly, an Atlanta businessman, and term trustee William Wesley Morris, a bishop of the United Methodist Church.

French practiced law with the firm King & Spalding for 15 years prior to joining NMP in 1985. While at King & Spalding, French specialized in corporate and securities law, and negotiated a number of acquisitions, mergers and public offerings. At NMP, French lends his legal expertise to a management team of partners that has created four limited partnership funds totaling some $262 million in capital and has invested in more than 100 companies since the firm’s founding in 1983.

A 1967 graduate of Emory University, French earned his law degree from the University of Virginia Law School. As an Emory undergraduate, he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He served on Emory's Board of Visitors from 1989-93.

He has been a director of Post Properties Inc., since 1993, is a board member of The Lovett School, and is a former director of Healthdyne, Inc.

French lives in Atlanta (30327) with his wife, Vicki H. French, a 1966 Emory alumna. They have two children, Tracy and Reid.
