Emory to Host Tutu, Bradley, Shalala Addresses on Values, Ethics, Leadership at 3rd Annual Sam Nunn Nationsbank Policy Forum


Atlanta, GaAs worry about the moral health of the nation becomes a national pastime, Emory University will bring together students, scholars, community and national leaders to focus on how our communities can strengthen the civic and moral ties that hold us together at the third annual Sam Nunn NationsBank Policy Forum March 21-23. The forum will feature keynote addresses by retired South African Archbishop and visiting Emory professor Desmond Tutu; presidential candidate and U.S. Sen. Bill Bradley; and U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Donna Shalala.

Druid Hills Civic Association Strikes Landmark Compromise With CVS in Emory Village


Atlanta, Ga.The Druid Hills Civic Association (DHCA) has negotiated a compromise with CVS/pharmacy regarding plans for its Emory Village store, to include expanding its food product lines and providing a separate retail facility within the store for Shield's Market, which will carry meat and fresh produce.

Georgia Gov. Zell Miller Will Join Emory Faculty


Atlanta, Ga.Georgia Gov. Zell Miller will become Presidential Distinguished Fellow in History and Political Science at Emory University, effective January 1999. The appointment is initially for three years. He was invited to join the Emory faculty because of his previous teaching experience at the school. In the late 1970s, Miller taught at Emory for three years. He taught one course with William Rand Kenan Jr. University Professor Dan T. Carter and the other two years he taught a course on state politics.
