At Emory
In a recent poll commissioned by Common Cause and the Emory University political science department, 86 percent of Georgians surveyed want some form of campaign finance reform. "So far the only candidate committed to attending is Green Party candidate Jeff Gates. What does that say about the candidates?" says Robert Pastor, professor of political science at Emory. All the Georgia candidates for U.S. Congress have been invited to participate in the forum. Emory political science students are compiling videotaped interviews with the candidates and will distribute a handout on their positions on campaign finance reform, so that audience members can hear the positions of candidates who do not attend. For more information on the event, call the Georgia Common Cause office
at 404-250-6010. For information on attending a pre-forum dinner, send
e-mail to nllewel@learnlink.emory.edu.
