Members of the Atlanta Percussion Trio, Thamyris and DrummerMom will lead a hands-on workshop on Sunday, Jan. 21 for children ages 5-12. The talented musicians leading the workshop have presented hundreds
of programs for children at schools throughout the Southeastern United
States as artists for Young Audiences of Atlanta. Children attending
the workshop will see, hear and play percussion instruments from around
the world. Enrollment is limited and Thamyris and the Atlanta Percussion Trio join together for the first time to offer an unusual concert experience for Atlanta families at 4 p.m. the same day. The program will feature percussion music from around the world, including the steel drums of Trinidad, marimbas of Guatemala, drums from Africa, and the found sounds of the "urban jungle."
