  American architect Henry Hornbostel designed the Atlanta campus in 1915. With its rolling hills and pines, the Druid Hills landscape reminded him of Northern Italy. For this reason, he created a campus of buildings with red-tile roofs designed in the Italian Renaissance style. Many of these striking buildings remain today on the Quadrange.
