American architect Henry Hornbostel designed the Atlanta campus in 1915.
With its rolling hills and pines, the Druid Hills landscape reminded him
of Northern Italy. For this reason, he created a campus of buildings with
red-tile roofs designed in the Italian Renaissance style. Many of these
striking buildings remain today on the Quadrange. |
