Approximately 11,300 students are enrolled in Emory's nine schools, and this number is split fairly evenly between undergraduate and graduate and professional students. For its 1999 freshman class, Emory College admitted 42.6% (4,200) of the nearly 10,000 applicants and expects to enroll approximately 1,200 students. The class average SAT is 1329; unweighted GPA of 3.6; 26.5 percent minority; 54.8 percent female. Sixteen percent hail from Georgia As a university related to the United Methodist Church Emory provides ample and creative opportunities for enhancing religious life on campus through worship, service, education, and undergraduate and graduate student organizations. Some 600 first- and second-year students take avantage of a unique college experience at Oxford College, which provides a liberal arts setting with an intense teaching environment; average class size is twenty. | |||||
