VI.A.1. The characteristic(s) of computed tomography (CT) which give(s) it a distinct advantage over conventional radiography is/are:
a. Higher visibility of detail (resolution). No
b. Better contrast sensitivity (low contrast detectability). Yes
c. Lower noise. No
d. Fewer artifacts. No
Discussion:   CT is superior to radiography only in terms of a higher contrast sensitivity (low contrast detectability). It has less visibility of detail. Also, CT does not have lower noise or fewer artifacts generally.
