Group Visits

Thank you for your interest in visiting Emory University.  If you would like to bring a group of 10 or more students/visitors to campus for a tour and information session, please complete the Group Visit Request (GVR) form so we can process your request.  Requests must be submitted at least four weeks in advance. Group tours are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

Submission of the GVR form does not secure a tour and/or information session.  Please allow at least 7 business days for us to reply to your GVR.  You will receive a confirmation email once your schedule has been finalized.

Please email Visit_Emory@learnlink.emory.edu if you have any questions.

General Information

Group Visits are available Monday through Friday throughout the year.   We do not offer visits on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) or during University closings and national holidays.  We offer tours and information sessions in both the morning and the afternoon, according to availability.

Group Visits are offered to parties of 10 students/visitors or more, with a maximum of 50 students.  Group tours are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.  We will do our best to accommodate your request, but due to limited office hours and counselor availability, it may not be possible to schedule your visit on your preferred date.  Once your Group Visit Request has been received, please allow at least 7 business days for processing.  Once processed, a confirmation email will be sent with your finalized agenda.

If you find it necessary to cancel your visit or change any aspect of your visit after it has been confirmed by our office, we ask that you please notify the Office of Undergraduate Admission at least five (5) business days prior to the date of your scheduled visit.  Changes could result in the cancellation of your appointment.

Our campus tour is a 90-minute walking tour.  The typical group campus tour includes a view of the Quadrangle, main library, computing lab, main student center/dining hall, gym, and various academic buildings.  In addition to the tour, a 30-minute information session is optional, depending on your request.  All participants should have comfortable footwear and come prepared for the possibility of inclement weather.  We do not cancel tours for inclement weather; tours are only canceled for University closings and national holidays.

Middle School Groups

For middle school groups, we offer a scavenger hunt in addition to a self-guided tour.  These options do not require registration.  Please print our scavenger hunt and self-guided tour before coming to campus – there is no need to check-in with the Office of Admission.   After you are done exploring campus, make sure to check your answers with our answer key.  Both the “Campus Scavenger Hunt” and “Scavenger Hunt Key” can be found under “Quick Links” at the top right of this page.

Middle school groups are also encouraged to check out Emory’s on-campus dining facilities and the Michael C. Carlos Museum.  Check out “Other Items of Interest” at the bottom of this page for more information.

Getting to Campus

If you are traveling by car (with a clearance of 7’ or below), parking is available at the visitor lots of Peavine, Fishburne, and the Office of Admission (located at 1390 Oxford Road NE).  Cars or vans with a clearance over 7’ should park at the Peavine visitor lot.  Large buses should park on Fishburne Drive – the first street on your right once you turn in to the main entrance through our front gate on North Decatur Road – and unload passengers to take a short walk to our office.  Directions to campus can be found to the right of this website under the “Quick Links” section.

On Campus

On the day of your visit, please make sure you arrive promptly according to your scheduled time, preferably 5-10 minutes early.  Be sure to leave early to allow time for possible delays, especially with Atlanta traffic, and on-going construction around Emory’s campus.  Should it appear that your group will not arrive on campus at the expected time, please notify the Office of Undergraduate Admission at 404.727.6036 or 404.727.0171.  We cannot hold visit appointments for more than fifteen (15) minutes beyond the scheduled time out of respect to the tour guides and the admission staff.
