Emory students tend to be a creative bunch, and we offer several ways for them to exercise their artistic impulses and hone their instincts. Whether you’re working toward a BA in theater or you just want to audition for a play, Emory affords you unparalleled opportunities to work under the direction of seasoned faculty and perform with professional artists. Our creative and performing arts programs are offered within Emory College, rather than in a separate school dedicated to one discipline. For instance, many students double major in a fine art and a life science.

“Dance (and performing arts) is a practice of repetition and of constant renewal. Every class is an exploration of the familiar (the same movements), while also a plunge into the unknown. No matter how many times I repeat an exercise, there is still more to learn and to discover.
“I am so glad that I chose Emory over a conservatory because I have so many intelligent and multifaceted friends. At Emory I am challenged intensely in my dance studies and also while taking prerequisites for medical school. Emory’s science and dance courses complement, so that I am always challenging both my body and my mind.”
