General Education Requirements
The idea behind the General Education Requirements is twofold. We want to ensure that our students are exposed to certain disciplines within the liberal arts, but we also want our students to be able to explore other subjects that interest them. Our requirements have parameters but flexibility is built in.
Roughly a third of your classes will be core classes, a third will be in your major and another third will be electives. The broad scope of these requirements achieve something else as well: allowing students to discover the connections between seemingly disparate disciplines.
