Outstanding students are the lifeblood of this great university. We are thrilled to have you as the newest member of Emory's challenging, diverse, and supportive community.
There are some important details concerning your admission under the Early Decision Plan. First, you must send a non refundable deposit of $475 by January 15, 2012 (ED1) or March 1, 2012 (ED2) to reserve your place in Emory College's Class of 2016. This deposit includes an orientation fee, a housing reservation fee and a credit towards the first semester tuition. If you were admitted to both Emory College and Oxford College through Early Decision, you have until the deposit date to choose which campus to attend. If you require an extension on the deposit deadline, please contact Tyler Sant, Senior Admission Counselor, via email at least two days prior to the deposit deadline.
To pay your enrollment deposit online, sign on to your OPUS account. The Admission section is on the left side of the "Student Center" main page. You will find the link to pay your deposit under the Admissions tab. In addition, you will need to mail the signed Admission Response Card to our Office.

Carefully review the Next Steps information sheet, paying close attention to the Acceptance Agreement and Early Decision sections that outline the terms of your admission to Emory College under our Early Decision Plan. To confirm your understanding of all aspects of the Early Decision agreement, return the Admission Response Card bearing both you and your parent's signatures and that of your high school guidance counselor. Take special note that we require you to withdraw all other college applications when you send your $475 deposit.

Your admission is conditional pending receipt of your final secondary school transcript and documentation of graduation. Be advised that the Admission Committee requires the same level of academic achievement and personal conduct through the completion of your senior year. Failure to maintain this level of performance and schedule of courses could result in a withdrawal of our admission offer.
If you wish to defer your enrollment for one year, you may request to do so by writing to the Associate Dean of Admission, Emily Simmons. In your request, please provide a documented plan for the year which may include work, travel, or volunteering. Students who are granted deferment may not enroll as a student on a full-time basis during that year and may only take a maximum of two courses throughout the deferral year. In order to defer your admission and reserve your place in the following year's class, you must pay a deposit of $1,475.00 which includes the initial $475.00 admission deposit and the additional deferment deposit of $1,000.00. If you have already paid the $475.00 deposit, please submit the additional $1,000.00 deposit with your request for deferral. Click here for more information.
International students must also submit a Statement of Finances and return it to the Admission Office. You must verify the amounts and sources of your educational funds in order for Emory to issue an 1-20 form that is required for your F-1 visa. This information must be completed prior to enrollment.
