Road Trips

Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is the busiest airport in the world. What that means for Emory students is easy, nonstop air travel options to and from their hometowns, and to and from some really fun destinations that are short flights or, if you prefer, easy drives from Emory.

Head to Charleston for some South by the sea. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Savannah. Hit the swank hotels of South Beach, Miami. If you’re here in the summer, bang the bongos at Bonaroo Music Festival, one of world’s great music festivals, held in Manchester, Tennessee.

“Road trips are always a fun way to explore new areas and spend time with great friends. Whether it
s a quick trip to hike up nearby Stone Mountain to see the sunrise or a weekend trip to experience Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Emory is close to so many amazing places.

“One of my favorite Emory memories is a St. Patrick
s Day trip to Savannah, where the entire city is basically painted green to celebrate. I went with about ten friends, but once we arrived in the city it almost seemed like all of Emory was there! We ran into so many friends from different sports teams, clubs, performance groups, fraternities, and sororities—we were all so excited to see each other. It really proved to me that the friendships and connection we all have at Emory reach far beyond the confines of our Atlanta campus. It is a network I know will be there no matter where I go in life.”
