Atlanta may be a big city, but one of its most attractive features is its proximity to beautiful undeveloped and preserved areas. While at Emory, you’ll be just a car ride away from rivers, mountains, trails, even beaches. Outdoor Emory is our largest student-run organization and one of the most active in the country. Its more than 400 members kayak, hike, camp, climb, raft and rappel their way across Georgia and many other parts of North America, enjoying and exploring the great outdoors.

“Outdoor Emory has trips every year to the beach (Florida and Savannah), skiing, hiking and whitewater rafting in the mountains. All of these places are close enough for weekend trips! There are also great parks and outdoor attractions in and around metro Atlanta such as Stone Mountain and Piedmont Park—not to mention Lullwater and the other parks on our own campus! Our Adventure Orientation trips for incoming freshmen have been wildly successful over the past 16 years, creating great memories and lasting friendships for hundreds of Emory students.”
