Best in Show

The warm sense of community at Emory is wrought in-part by an interest on the part of students, faculty and staff to engage in open dialogue about important and even difficult issues. Toward that end, the Issues Troupe, part of the Office of Multicultural Programs and Services, uses interactive theater to raise awareness and elicit conversation about difficult topics. The troupe, known for its daring, original short plays about discrimination on Emory’s campus, has become a staple at Freshman Orientation with its Best in Show, a talent show featuring various performance groups, dancing, singing and playing music. Once you’ve been a part of this event that highlights ethnic pride and culture, you’ll know you're in a place that inspires originality, encourages debate and fosters respect.
