SongFest

SongfestSongFest is an annual competition in which students from each first-year residence hall write and perform songs that quite literally sing the praises of their respective communities. The event is held during Orientation, so it’s a great ice-breaker, helping first-year students bond with their hallmates and meet students from other residence halls. Emory administrators judge the Songfest performancecompetition. It’s Emory’s very own “American Idol,” without the mean-spirited Simon.

SongFest is one of the most memorable aspects of student life at Emory. Throughout and after their college careers, participants recall SongFest with laughter and sometimes bravado.
