Molecule Libraries Molecular Libraries Screening Center Network MLSCN performs HTS on assays provided by the research community, against a large library of small molecules maintained in a central molecule repository. The network also performs optimization chemistry required to produce useful in vitro chemical probes (research tools) from the “hits” identified in initial screening. Cheminformatics Cheminformatics PubChem is a comprehensive database of chemical structures and their biological activities developed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information at NIH. PubChem houses both compound information from the scientific literature as well as screening and probe data from the MLSCN Technology Development Technology Development The goals of the Molecular Libraries Roadmap are unachievable with current technologies. Therefore, significant resources are devoted to new technology development in the following areas:
1. Chemical diversity
2. Assay diversity
3. Major instrumentation
4. Predictive ADME/toxicology

Our mission is to produce innovative chemical tools for use in biological research. We help drive the discovery novel compounds that may lead to new therapies for disease, and new approaches to predictive health.
