Commencement

8:30 a.m. (line up by 8:00 a.m.)

Members of the Faculty of Emory University are cordially invited to participate in Commencement ceremonies and to process at the all-schools ceremony on the Quadrangle.

Faculty members in full regalia are asked to line up no later than 8:00 a.m. on Commencement morning. The faculty will line up at the Anne Register Jones Courtyard (located between the Jones Center and the Oxford Road building). The procession, led by the Atlanta Pipe Band, and Chief University Marshal Tracy McGill, steps off promptly at 8:30 a.m.

Marching faculty are able to view the ceremony on the stage from their seats via screens.

Regalia

Academic celebrations at Emory are more remarkable when the colors and distinctiveness of faculty regalia enhance the occasions. Members of the faculty are encouraged to join colleagues, students, trustees, and guests of honor, processing in academic costume at our special ceremonies.

Please note: Faculty members who want to process in custom faculty regalia must order by March 13 to ensure accuracy and timely delivery for Commencement. You may order your regalia online or at the Barnes & Noble at Emory Bookstore (visiting on a weekday is recommended).

Faculty Parents

Faculty members whose children will graduate may be able to hand diplomas to their graduates. Contact the dean's office of your student's school.

Inclement Weather

In the event of heavy rain or severe weather, most non-College faculty will report directly to their respective school diploma ceremonies. Full details will be posted on this site.
