Kick off Commencement Weekend with Senior Class tradition, Class Day Crossover! Get ready to gather and celebrate one last time as the undergraduate Class of 2024. Start the evening with a Senior reception at the DCT then head over to the ESC to enjoy senior awards and be inspired by the student-selected Class Day speaker. As the sunsets, relish in the traditional Candlelight Crossover procession where hundreds of alumni, trustees, faculty, and staff will cheer you on as you cross over from a student to an alum of Emory University. The night ends with fun, food, music, and an unforgettable party on McDonough Field you won’t want to miss!

The Emory University School of Medicine MD Diploma Ceremony will take place on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. EST at Glenn Memorial Auditorium. Additional guests, family, and friends will have the opportunity to share in the activities via a live (and on-demand) webcast of the ceremony https://med.emory.edu/commencement. The Diploma Ceremony will feature remarks by the President of the National Academy of Medicine (NAM), Dr. Victor Dzau. Graduating students attending in-person will be individually recognized during the ceremony. The Papageorge Teaching Award will be presented, and recipients will be recognized. Graduating students must officially register themselves and their guests to attend the ceremony. Registration must be completed through the Marching Order Portal.

Multifaith Baccalaureate Ceremony for the Class of 2024
Cannon Chapel

Baccalaureate is a multifaith spiritual ceremony of reflection and celebration on the Friday afternoon before Commencement. This includes:

  • Graduating seniors sharing music, reflections, and meditations with one another
  • President Fenves, School Deans, and chaplains offering their best wishes and blessings to the graduating class
  • A festive reception will follow

Oxford Baccalaureate
Old Church (Wesley St. at Fletcher St., Oxford, GA)

The baccalaureate service is an Oxford tradition. Coordinated by Oxford's chaplain, this interfaith celebration of song and prayer represents the many faith traditions of our student body. All graduating students and their families and guests are invited to join this service that lasts approximately one hour.

Old Church is a three-minute walk from campus, going north on Wesley Street. Go two blocks past Haygood Hall, and Old Church will be on your left. By car, go north on Emory Street (Highway 81), turn left on Fletcher Street. Follow Fletcher Street until it intersects with Wesley Street. Old Church will be directly in front of you; police officers will direct you to parking. After the Baccalaureate service dinner will be served in the Dean's Dining Room. Student, please ensure you sign up for this event via MarchingOrder.

Goizueta Business School Master’s Degree Diploma Ceremony (MAF, MSBA & MBA Executive, Full-time and Evening formas)

The Candler School of Theology Graduate Recognition Ceremony will take place in-person on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. EST. The ceremony will be held at the Glenn Memorial Auditorium, 1660 N. Decatur Road NE, Atlanta, GA, 30322. Parking is available in the Fishburne Parking Deck (nearest Glenn), 1672 N Decatur Road, Atlanta, GA 30322 or the Peavine Parking Deck (nearest Candler) 29 Eagle Row NE, Atlanta, GA 30322. Doors will open for guest seating at 8:30 a.m. Graduates should plan to arrive for check-in and line up at 8:15 a.m. on the N. Decatur Road-side of Glenn Memorial Auditorium. The event will be live-streamed and available on Candler’s website Commencement page. On Saturday, May 11, a Graduate Recognition Brunch will be served at 11:00 a.m. at Candler School of Theology, 1531 Dickey Drive, Atlanta, GA, 30322. Registration is required for grads and their guests for both the Graduate Recognition Ceremony and the brunch. Please check the Emory Commencement Website frequently for the most current update.

The Rollins School of Public Health Diploma Ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 11 at 10:00 a.m. ET. A livestream option will be available. Summer 2023, Fall 2023, and Spring 2024 graduates are required to register to participate. The ceremony will be hosted by Dean M. Daniele Fallin. All graduates will be individually recognized in-person at the RSPH Degree Candidate Recognition Ceremony. Additional details are available on the RSPH Graduation Website.

Oxford Quadrangle

Oxford College will hold its 179th Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 11, at 10:00 a.m. on the Oxford College Quadrangle. During the ceremony, Oxford College will present the Virgil Y.C. Eady Sophomore Service Award to a sophomore student and the Emory Williams Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching Award to one of its faculty members. Graduating students should register themselves and their guests for the ceremony by April 25th through MarchingOrder.

School of Medicine, Genetic Counseling Training Program

The Emory University School of Medicine, Genetic Counseling Training Program Diploma Ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 11:00 AM EST in the Rollins Auditorium in HSRB1 on the Emory main campus. The Diploma ceremony will feature remarks by the Director of the Emory Genetic Counseling Training Program, Lauren Lichten, MS CGC. The ceremony will also include award presentations for the “Genetic Counseling Student of the Year”, The “Paul M. Fernhoff Excellence in Teaching Award”, and the “Best Student Research Poster”. A reception will be held immediately following the ceremony. Students will need to submit guest numbers to MarieAnge Charlestin at gcprogram@emory.edu by April 1st.

This exciting event includes the Class Orator, the presentation of academic and program honors and awards, a speech from the student-selected Distinguished Educator, and senior performances and superlatives. A reception will follow on Patterson Green. This event will not be ticketed.

An African-themed graduation ceremony celebrating the achievements of Black graduates. The ceremony pays tribute to African ancestors and heritage. After the ceremony, guests are invited to participate in the Modupe Dayo reception on McDonough Field. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served.

C.A.R.A.S.
Emory Student Center

Celebrating Accomplishments and Recognizing Academic Success (C.A.R.A.S.) is a ceremony that honors graduating members of the Latinx community at Emory. Event is hosted in both English and Spanish. After the ceremony, guests are invited to participate in the reception on McDonough Field. Dinner is provided.

Emory College of Arts and Sciences Honors Ceremony 
Glenn Memorial Auditorium

The Emory College of Arts and Sciences recognition of academic honorees is scheduled for Sunday, May 12 at 3:00 p.m. This ceremony is for graduating seniors who have completed the College Honors Program, along with their families, Honors committee directors, and College faculty. Doors will open an hour prior to the ceremony beginning. There will be a small reception on the lawn following the ceremony.

Asian Pacific Islander and Desi American (APIDA) Graduation Ceremony

A ceremony celebrating Emory’s Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi American community and honoring the achievements of our graduating students. Post-ceremony reception to follow. Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served.

Emory University Commencement Ceremony on the Quadrangle

Graduating students and their guests* are invited and encouraged to enjoy the pomp and circumstance of Emory’s processional march featuring full academic regalia, the keynote address, honorary degree presentations, the president’s address to the graduating class, and the formal group conferral of all student degrees earned. Emory's twenty-first president, President Gregory L. Fenves, presides over the event.

This ceremony will be livestreamed and available for viewing on Emory Television Channel 28.1(QAM), simulcast in White Hall rooms 206, 207, and 208 and other locations on campus, to be announced.

The Emory College of Arts and Sciences Diploma Ceremony will take place on Monday, May 13th, immediately following the University Ceremony on the Quad. The ceremony will feature remarks from the Dean of Emory College, Barbara Krauthamer, and the Senior Class Orator, the sole student speaker. All graduates will be individually recognized on stage. Tickets are not required for this ceremony. Join us as we celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Class of 2024 graduates!

The Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing Degree Candidate Recognition Ceremony will take place on Monday, May 8th at 11:00 a.m EST at the Emory University Student Center. A livestream option will be available. Spring 2024 graduates have been invited to participate and are asked to submit an RSVP for themselves and their guests by April 26, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. EST. The ceremony will be hosted by Dean Linda McCauley and will feature remarks from student speakers. All graduates will be individually recognized in-person at the SON Diploma Ceremony.

The BBA Diploma Ceremony will take place on Monday, May 13th immediately following the University Ceremony on the Quad, at approximately 11 AM Eastern, at the Woodruff P.E. Center. The ceremony will be held in person, and it will also be shared via a live webcast of the ceremony.  A champagne toast and brunch will take place on Patterson Green following the ceremony.

Dangerous weather: This ceremony will move to 1:00 p.m. in the same location.

Emory’s Medical Imaging Program Diploma Ceremony is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. in Harland Cinema, which is located on Emory’s Atlanta campus. RSVP information, health and safety requirements for the event and guest attendance information is to be determined, and will be announced at a later date.
