First Year Students will automatically be assigned to Plan A, at a cost of $2,115 per semester, when enrolling in housing. You may choose Plan K instead if you have Kosher or Halal dietary needs. One of these two plans will be the Meal Plan for both the Fall and Spring Semester the First Year. This Meal Plan entitles you to unlimited access to an all-you-care-to-eat format at Dining at Dobbs located in the Dobbs University Center (DUC). Students are also entitled to a Meal Exchange at other resident dining locations. In addition to unlimited access to Dining at Dobbs, Plan A has $150 Dooley Dollars that can be spent at any retail dining location on campus.
In addition to unlimited access to Dining at Dobbs, Meal Exchange and the $150 Dooley Dollars, students with the Plan A will receive:
- 16 guests passes for use anytime during the year (Given at Orientation and is not replaceable)
- Platinum Parent Pass allows access to Dining at Dobbs and a 10% discount at other Emory Dining locations whenever visiting campus
- One Free replacement EmoryCard for the year (To redeem, print and bring this page with your name and EmoryCard number written on it to the EmoryCard Office, B. Jones Building, first floor)
- Coupon Book with weekly savings
Dining Plan K has traditionally been referred to as our Kosher Dining Plan as it met the AKC guidelines of a Kosher diet. Plan K now meets the guidelines of a Halal diet as well. Dining Plan K entitles you to 11 meals per week catered by an approved Kosher and Halal caterer at a cost of $2,500. These meals will be provided within Dining at Dobbs, at a designated location. The 11 meals are offered during Lunch and Dinner on Monday through Thursday, Lunch on Friday and Lunch and Dinner on Sunday. During these meal periods are the only periods in which Meal Plan K entitles you to access Dining at Dobbs.
There is NO Meal Exchange associated with this plan for any other dining locations.
In addition to the catered Kosher and Halal meals, the dining plan has $100 Dooley Dollars per semester that can be used on a declining balance basis for the purchase of products at all on campus food service locations. Dooley Dollars can be used to access Dining at Dobbs during breakfast periods, Dobbs After Dark or any other periods not entitled in Plan K at the posted Door Prices.
If you find yourself low on Dooley Dollars, you can also use your Eagle Dollars to make food purchases anywhere on campus. The Eagle Dollars are stored on your EmoryCard and is a supplement to Dooley Dollars. You save 5% on all purchases at Emory Dining locations. Eagle Merchants can give you more information on the Off Campus locations that accept Eagle Dollars.

Meal Plan Verification and Change Period
Each semester has a verification and change period in which students living in Resident Housing must verify and or change their dining plan for the next or upcoming semester. As a First Year Stud net you have only One Meal Plan and therefore nothing to verify or change. Be aware of this however for in the Spring of your First Year you will begin to select your Second Year Meal Plan.
Any Dining Plan Changes beginning on the first day of the Dining Plan Period will be subject to a Dining Plan Change Fee based on the Dining Plan the student is changing from.
