Welcome to Emory University!
Here, you will find information you need to know as a First Year Student at Emory, a Continuing Student from Oxford or a Transfer Student from another university. Parents will find this information helpful as well.
This New Student Orientation section of the Emory Dining web site is designed to be your quick reference guide and starting point to navigate to the information you are searching for.
Before you begin, there are a couple of federal and university policies you should be aware of. Please click on the following links and familiarize yourself with these important policies.
EmoryCard
So what do I need first? What shows people I am an Emory student? How do I get into places and how do I eat? The answers to all those questions are described in the following: EmoryCard.
You can't get a card without a picture. If you send in your picture ahead of time, First Year Students will have their card waiting for them when they check into their dorm. Transfer Students will have their card waiting for them at the EmoryCard Office. If you don't send in a picture you will have to come to the EmoryCard office when you arrive on campus to have your picture taken and card created. This will delay your ability to get in and out of your dorm and access to Dining at Dobbs.
Your First Photo explains how to send in your picture ... don't delay!
Eagle Dollars are just like cash - dollar for dollar. This is money added to your EmoryCard for additional campus spending. Your Eagle Dollars are accepted anywhere on campus that accepts the EmoryCard. This includes all on-campus Emory Dining locations, bookstores, vending and laundry machines, health and parking services.
For more information on Eagle Dollars or How to Add Money to Eagle Dollars and How to Check Your Balance go to YOUR ACCOUNTS.
