Purchasing Policy

Emory Dining has an unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability, and to cutting energy costs.  Because of this, we have devised a plan to switch to more energy-efficient equipment when our present equipment needs to be replaced. 


Going forward, we will purchase electronic products, such as computers, printers, fax machines and other miscellaneous products which meet a comprehensive set of environmental criteria as outlined by the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool, or EPEAT.


As well, our commercial food service equipment, such as dishwashers, fryers, hot food holding cabinets, ice machines, steam cookers, vending machines, refrigerators and freezers will be Energy Star qualified products, as outlined by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy.
