Summer 2012 Dining Plans

Dining Plans

All Undergraduate and Graduate Students regardless of residency may choose to participate in a Dining Plan. These dining plans are structured to provide you with an appropriate amount of Dooley Dollars to get you through the summer semester or semesters you are attending. Please review this information carefully to select the best Dining Plan for you.

Dining Plan Options

Description

Plans A and B are intended for students enrolled in Maymester from May 15-June 1 for a total of 18 days. Plan A is based on $10 per day and Plan B on $20 per day. These dining plans are also available for students in Summer 1 and Summer 2 should they want a low-dollar option.

Plans C and D are intended for students enrolled in summer sessions 1 and 2. Each session is 40 days. At $20 per day a student enrolled in either of these sessions would have an adequate amount for full meal purchases with these plans.

Dooley Dollars are intended for use at Dobbs Market located in the Dobbs University Center (DUC) during scheduled summer camp & conference sessions as well as in any retail food service operation located on campus. Please verify which locations are open and when.

Unused Dooley Dollars at the end of the Spring Semester continue through both summer sessions. Should you purchase a Summer Meal Plan, your previous Dooley Dollar balance will be added to the balance of the Meal Plan you purchase. Unused Dooley Dollars at the end of Summer Session 1 will continue through Summer Session 2. You do not have to purchase another Meal Plan for Summer Session 2. Should you purchase a Meal Plan for Summer Session 2, your previous Dooley Dollar balance will be added to the balance of the Meal Plan you purchase. Unused Dooley Dollars at the end of Summer Session 2 are forfeited and are non refundable.

Eagle Dollar funds are just like cash - dollar for dollar. This is money you add to your EmoryCard for additional campus spending and for on campus food purchases at a 5% discount. Your Eagle Dollar funds are accepted anywhere on campus that accepts the EmoryCard. You can add money to Eagle Dollars through any ADM machine or in the Emory Card office. This allows you to have money on your card for purchases without purchasing a full Meal Plan.

Unused Eagle Dollars continue from semester to semester and year to year. Unused Eagle Dollars balance of $25.00 or more are refunded upon graduation or leaving the university. Any balance less than $25.00 will only be refunded upon written request to the EmoryCard office.

All activities described above are accessed with the use of the EmoryCard, the official university ID card.

CHANGING YOUR DINING PLAN

You can make changes to your Summer Meal Plan through the Food Service Administration Office located in Room 313 of Cox Hall. The deadline for changes to Summer Session 1 is 5:00 pm on Tuesday, May 22nd. The deadline for changes to Summer Session 2 is 5:00 pm on Tuesday, July 3rd. You will not be allowed to make a dining plan change after the specified dates for that semester.

Eat Happy

Dobbs Market – Use a Meal Swipe to enjoy this global cuisine market that provides you with endless opportunities to each fresh, healthy options from around the world in our state-of-the-art facility located in the Dobbs University Center.

Meal Exchange - This allows you to utilize one of your meal swipes to purchase a meal at the Residential Dining Locations as well as limited retail options. Current locations are WREC at Woodruff Residential, Emory Market at Clairmont, The Fly by at Dobbs Market, and Common Grounds at Cannon Chapel.  In Exchange for your Dobbs Market meal, you may choose from several pre-designated meal combinations combo meals. The combo meals vary per location.

Dooley Dollars - You receive a 5% discount at any Emory Dining location when using Dooley Dollars for the purchase of food and beverage items. Dooley Dollars are tax free, giving you a 7% discount. You can use your EmoryCard at 21 food locations across campus, with the amount automatically deducted from the balance on your account. Dooley Dollars roll over from the fall to spring and summer semesters. They do not roll over to the next academic year and the balance is non-refundable. Merchandise, gift cards and other non-food products cannot be purchased with Dooley Dollars. If you find yourself low on Dooley Dollars, you can also use Eagle Dollars to make food purchases anywhere on campus.

Eagle Dollars - Funds that you can add to your account for additional spending anywhere on campus that accepts EmoryCard. You will receive a 5% discount at any Emory Dining location when using Eagle Dollars. You can also use Eagle Dollars at participating off-campus merchants through the Eagle Merchants Program.
