Distinguished Emeriti

Distinguished Emeriti are chosen every year by a committee of their peers in the Emeritus College. This designation indicates a person whose contributions to academia, the University, the community and mankind have continued beyond retirement. consisting of a major contribution to the University.

Heilbrun Fellows

Named in honor of Alfred B. Heilbrun, Jr., Professor Emeritus in the Department of Psychology of Emory University, and funded in the year 2000 through an extraordinarily generous gift on his behalf from members of his family, the Alfred Heilbrun Distinguished Research Fellowship Program for Emeritus Faculty in Arts and Sciences offers an opportunity for heightened engagement in active and continuing research.

The program grants two Fellowships for a twelve-month term each academic year beginning September 1st. A stipend supports normal expenses connected with the Fellow’s proposed program of research, and Fellows are given the use of campus study space in the Woodruff Library.
