Meet the Team

Executive Director

Alexander P. Isakov, MD, MPH, the Executive Director of CEPAR and an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine provides oversight and leadership for the office. Dr. Isakov has led the development of the new CEPAR office and its various initiatives to improve Emory’s capacity for emergency management. His professional experience includes service as an officer in the United States Navy, consulting for the CDC, deploying with the National Disaster Medical System, and providing leadership in EMS and disaster response throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area. Dr. Isakov also directs Emory’s Section of Prehospital and Disaster Medicine, whose members provide medical oversight for the 911 emergency ambulance responders in the City of Atlanta/Fulton County and fire-based emergency first responder services.   He is currently a member of Georgia’s Pandemic Flu Coordinating Committee. He has served as a consultant to the CDC working with staff in the Emergency Preparedness and Response Branch of NCEH. He has served on the national faculty of the Counter Narcotics and Terrorism Operational Medical Support program and has provided operational medical support for federal law enforcement special operations. Dr. Isakov practices clinically in the emergency departments of Grady Memorial Hospital and Emory University Hospital.

Senior Administrator

Robert Nadolski, Senior Administrator for CEPAR is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the office. Prior to joining CEPAR, Mr. Nadolski served as the lead administrator for Grady Health System’s Emergency Medical Services and Level-One Trauma Center. Grady Health System is Atlanta’s only public hospital and Level-One Trauma Center. Grady Emergency Medical Services is Atlanta’s exclusive 911 emergency medical responder receiving 95,000 requests for service in 2007. Mr. Nadolski also was responsible for Grady Health System’s Emergency Management Program and implemented the Regional Coordinating Hospital Program within Metropolitan Atlanta in collaboration with the State Department of Public Health and the Georgia Hospital Association.  Mr. Nadolski has represented emergency medical services and area hospitals on the Georgia Emergency Management Agency’s All Hazards Council and served as the chairperson for EMS and medical surge capacity planning on the Department of Homeland Security’s Atlanta Urban Area Security Initiative. 

Training and Operations Manager

James Zerylnick, Operations and Training Manager for CEPAR is responsible for developing, coordinating and conducting many of the training programs identified through CEPAR.  Mr. Zerylnick is a licensed paramedic, a registered nurse, a sworn law enforcement officer, and a certified hospital emergency coordinator. Before joining Emory, he was with the Medical College of Georgia's Center for Operational Medicine where he contributed to the development of the National Disaster Life Support Foundation's Disaster Life Support programs.

Program Coordinator

Holley JC Butkovich, Program Coordinator for CEPAR is responsible for coordinating the daily operations and activities of the office.  Ms Butkovich began her work with Emory University in 2003 in the Candler School of Theology where she was the Program Administrative Assistant for the Contextual Education program.  Before joining Emory, she was with Georgia State University for seven years providing many services to students, faculty and staff in the Center for Sports Medicine and Department of Kinesiology & Health.  Ms. Butkovich brings experience of the university setting from a wide variety of roles and responsibilities.
