Daniel Barker

W. Daniel Barker shepherded Emory's Crawford W. Long Hospital, now Emory University Hospital Midtown, through critical years during the 1960s and 1970s.

A New Orleans native, Barker began his hospital career in 1949, after graduating from Emory, as manager of the business office of Emory University Hospital. He later earned a master's degree in hospital administration from Georgia State University and became assistant director of Crawford Long, going on to serve as administrator of the hospital and then director of both University hospitals for the Robert W. Woodruff Health Sciences Center.
