As a young woman, Patricia A. Lottier worked as a nurse. In 1986, Lottier and her husband took over a fledgling newspaper, the Atlanta Tribune, described as "black Atlanta's leading source for relevant, thought-provoking news and information for business, careers, technology, wealth-building, politics, and education."
The publication switched to a magazine format in 2000; it boasts a circulation of 35,000 and has an active website, a Facebook page, Twitter feed, and an e-newsletter and email blasts to keep readers informed and interacting.
