In the face of dramatic changes in the legal profession, Emory University School of Law works to promote positive social transformation by advancing the rule of law—through the ideas we generate, the students we educate, and the service we perform. Guided by the ambitious agenda of a new dean, Emory Law is keeping pace with the challenges of the legal profession and changes in legal education nationwide. Whether the topic is climate change, mortgage foreclosure, the place of Islam in the secular state, or the challenges of human vulnerability, the law school presses the boundaries of learning. Dean’s Priorities

For more than a century, Emory University School of Law’s mission has been to advance the rule of law by educating dynamic legal minds, promoting service as a core part of the legal profession, and advancing legal scholarship.

As one of the leading law schools in the United States, our success would not be possible without the philanthropic support of alumni and friends like you. Not just content to keep pace, Emory Law continues to push boundaries—shaping legal thought and doctrine as the legal profession continues to change and evolve. With your help, we can prepare our students for a lifetime of leadership—ready to confront problems unimaginable today.

Emory Law’s current fundraising priorities, according to Interim Dean James B. Hughes Jr., include:

Funding student scholarships like those awarded to Earl Porter III 19L and Bryan Tehrani 20L, both currently interning with ambitions to practice with prestigious firms.

Broadening the reach of community service by allowing more students to pursue careers in public service to provide legal assistance for vulnerable populations.

Focusing attention on complex litigation as it rapidly evolves to not only address changes in the underlying law but also the varied and changing substantive claims being brought within the system.
