Like most of her colleagues, Angela is an Atlanta transplant. She is a native of Saluda, South Carolina (try to find it on a map) and a graduate of South Carolina State University. Upon relocating to Atlanta in 1995 she accepted a position in an international office to simply have a job until she could find what she thought would eventually become her dream job. After being in the office for one week she realized that she accidentally found her dream.
Angela advises undergraduate and graduate students in Allied Health, the School of Medicine, and the School of Nursing, and graduate students in all Laney Graduate School programs. As the senior international student advisor, Angela’s focus is on advising international students on immigration matters including regulatory compliance, employment options, and coordinating orientation programs.
Prior to joining Emory, she has worked in the international offices at Georgia State University and Spelman College. Throughout the years she has been actively involved in NAFSA: Association of International Educators. She has served in leadership roles and a presenter at the state, regional and national level.
Angela’s passion is time with her husband and three children and visiting extended family and friends. In her limited free time she loves to make greeting cards, scrapbook and plant flowers. Angela has traveled to Canada, the Bahamas, Italy, and France.
