In his role as senior international student advisor for ISSS, James (Jimmy) works with undergraduate students in Emory College (last names O–Z) and all Goizueta Business School students.

Jimmy hails from Nairobi, Kenya, where he grew up all the way through high school. He came to the United States to pursue his bachelor's degree in political science at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. He knew his professional calling was in international education from the onset of his career. He began by working as an international student advisor in a small Midwestern liberal arts setting at the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. Subsequently he worked at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County where he is also pursuing a graduate degree in Emergency Management. He has worked with F-1 and J-1 students from all walks of life.

In his free time, Jimmy like to travel domestically just as much as he travels abroad, and enjoys photography, reading, and playing rugby. He has spent time living and studying abroad in England and Northern Ireland.
