Kyla King

Kyla KingInternational Student and Scholar Advisor

As an international student and scholar advisor for ISSS, Kyla is excited to be in the South again, working with undergraduate students (last names A–N) in Emory College, as well as graduate students in the Candler School of Theology.

A Hoosier at heart, Kyla grew up in Indiana and attended college at Indiana University in Bloomington, where she studied journalism and entrepreneurship. As an undergraduate, experiences both studying and working abroad made her realize she wanted to pursue a career in international education. After nearly two years in Dallas working in healthcare marketing, she returned to Indiana University to pursue a graduate degree in higher education and student affairs. During this time, she spent two years as a graduate assistant in the IU Office of International Services, where she worked with F-1 and J-1 students and scholars.

Kyla enjoys playing piano, cheering for Indiana University basketball and Chicago Cubs baseball, talking friends into going on trips with her, and her involvement at Buckhead Church.
