Effective immediately, a new process has been established to obtain Emory Cards for international scholars. ISSS will no longer make these requests. Emory Cards for international scholars can be obtained in the following ways:
For scholars who are employed by Emory, departments should complete the pre-boarding information. Once they are in the Human Resources system, they will be able to get an Emory Card and network ID.
For scholars who are not employed by Emory, but qualify as faculty or faculty equivalent, departments should use the HR WOC procedure to get them into the HR system. This will allow them to get an Emory Card and a network ID that has faculty privileges. Do not use a sponsored account for these scholars, or else they will not have faculty privileges.
For scholars who are not employed by Emory and do not qualify as faculty or faculty equivalent, departments should apply for sponsored accounts on their behalf in order for them to obtain an Emory Card and a network ID. The scholars will not automatically qualify for an Emory e-mail account. You may pay for an account for scholars, or request the forwarding of their e-mail to a non-Emory account, such as Gmail.
