Prevailing Wage Alert for Postdoctoral Fellows
Due to a recent increase in prevailing wage requests being returned to Emory requesting more information, we have revised the standardized job description for a post doc position in Emory School of Medicine and Emory College sciences departments. Please review the standardized description below, and alter future prevailing wage requests to accommodate for the additional information. We are hopeful that adding a few additional sentences relating to types of research and field of work will alleviate some of the delays we are experiencing securing the appropriate prevailing wage from the U.S. Department of Labor.

Job Title: Post Doctoral Fellow
Job Description:
Help design and conduct research in [INSERT FIELD OF STUDY] while receiving advanced training from a designated Principal Investigator to enhance professional skills and research independence needed for pursuit of a career. Designs and evaluates experiments. [INSERT ONE OR TWO SENTENCES WHICH DESCRIBE THE RESEARCH TOPICS ON WHICH THE POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW WILL WORK]. Develops new ideas that promote current research. Prepares and publishes scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator. May be responsible for operation of specific equipment. Positions are temporary appointments as a research trainee.
Qualifications:
