Tax Information 2010 Now Available

ISSS is not responsible for providing any sort of income tax advice or assistance.  ISSS simply disseminates information regarding on and off campus tax filing resources.  Do not email ISSS@emory.edu regarding income tax advice or assistance.  Please read ALL the IMPORTANT INFORMATION below.

ISSS has on its website the following information:

  1. Informational article on tax filing, namely who needs to file, what is your tax status and income tax filing assistance.

    • CINTAX Information – CINTAX is the licensed program used by Emory in assisting international students and scholars who are non-residents for tax filing purposes complete their U.S. tax returns.

    • CINTAX LOG-IN Link – You can not log into CINTAX earlier than Tuesday, February 22, 2011.

    • VITA (VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE) Program Information including Emory Workshops to assist with Georgia State Income Tax Forms for those who are non-residents for tax filing purposes.

EVEN MORE IMPORTANT INFORMATION:  PLEASE READ

  1. If you receive a stipend or paycheck from Emory, then you should receive a Form W-2. Forms W-2 were made available January 31.  If you did not receive your W-2 or you are not certain whether or not you should receive a W-2 from Emory, please contact the Payroll Office at 404-727-6100

  2. If you completed the Form 8233 and/or Form W-9 (treaty benefits forms) in 2010, then you should expect to receive a Form 1042S. Forms 1042S were mailed the week of February 14. If you had treaty benefits or taxable scholarship income and have not received your form 1042S by February 25, then please email the Nonresident Alien Tax Specialist at mchenau@emory.edu. There will be duplicate copies of Forms 1042S in the Controller's Office.

  3. CINTAX will be available for use on Tuesday, February 22, 2011.  Do not attempt to login into CINTAX prior to 8:30AM Eastern Standard Time on February 22, 2011. 

  4. If you need assistance using CINTAX, click on the Online Help link at the bottom of each main screen for specific information relating to the topic on that page. There is also a “Frequently Asked Questions” (FAQ) section at the beginning. For all other questions including technical support, please contact the CINTAX Support Center at support@cintax.us.

Remember, you have until April 18, 2011, to file your income tax forms.  Please read ALL the information on ISSS’s website.  It will assist you in meeting your tax filing obligations.
