Celebrate Thanksgiving on Nov. 24

The Thanksgiving holidays are fast approaching, and the staff at ISSS would like to encourage all international students and scholars to take advantage of one of the many opportunities to experience Thanksgiving. A variety of Atlanta-based groups offer Thanksgiving programs geared towards International students, and one of them is certain to be a perfect fit for you.

For a traditional Thanksgiving celebration, register with AMIS (Atlanta Ministry with International Students). Traditional Thanksgiving celebrations are family gatherings, with family members coming from far and near to spend time together and enjoy a delicious meal. AMIS will match you with an Atlanta family for Thanksgiving Day. Register online on the AMIS site.

For a more contemporary Thanksgiving celebration, participate with First Baptist Church Woodstock, in Woodstock, Georgia. A Thanksgiving menu will be served along with other menu selections. Entertainment and door prizes will be provided to make the day enjoyable for all. Enjoy the meal and fellowship with people from many other cultures around the world. Limited transportation is available for participants. The Emory pickup point will be at the front of Dobbs University Center (DUC) at 10:45 am. Reservations are required. You may register and get a FREE ticket to attend this event at the ISSS front desk.
