AMIS Programs for New International Students

The Atlanta Ministry with International Students (AMIS) sponsors a number of programs that encourage friendship between international students and Atlanta families and individuals. Below are two programs to which international students at Emory may be interested in applying.

The Amigo Program
In the Amigo Program, international students and scholars are assigned to Atlantans who are interested in intercultural learning and sharing. The Atlantan will contact you via e-mail, mail or phone, invite you to share a meal together, invite you to an event in the community, and any other mutually agreed upon activities. This official relationship will last from September to May of each academic year. However, often the friendships which develop last a lifetime and bridge the distance between countries and cultures.
