Changing from B-1 or B-2
If you are in B-1 or B-2 status, a change of status to F-1 is usually denied if:- You apply to change status soon after entering the U.S., and/or
- You have already applied to a U.S. school before you entered as a B-1 or B-2.
B-1/B-2 status does not allow for study. Thus, the change of status must be approved before you may begin classes.
