Adjustment of Status

Adjustment of status to permanent residency is typically the final step towards permanent residency that most of you will take. It is a process by which you adjust from a nonimmigrant status to an immigrant (or permanent residency) status inside the U.S. Although you are responsible for filing the adjustment of status packet, ISSS will assist you if the underlying I-140 petition was filed by Emory University. If there are complicating circumstances that may impact your ability to adjust status to permanent residency, you will need to seek the counsel of an immigration attorney.
