Reduced Course Load Authorization
Federal regulations require students in F-1 immigration status to maintain full-time enrollment each fall and spring semester. Part-time enrollment is only permitted in limited academic and medical curcimstances. Students who wish to enroll in a reduced course load must obtain authorization from an International Student Advisor prior to withdrawing from class(es).
Procedure
Students who wish to request a reduced course load for academic reasons must:
- Make an appointment to see an International Student Advisor and
- Bring along the completed and signed Less than Full Time Enrollment Request Form.
Students who wish to request a reduced course load for medical reasons must:
- Make an appointment with the International Student Advisor and
- Bring along a letter from the licensed medical doctor, doctor of osteopathy, or licensed clinical psychologist treating the condition which provides information about the illness and his/her opinion on the effects of your medical condition on your coursework
