Registration
International Ph.D. students in F-1 and J-1 status are required by law to maintain a full course of study. Throughout the academic program, international doctoral students must register for a minimum of nine credits per semester to maintain full-time status. Any drop below this minimum course load requirement must be authorized in advance by an International Student Advisor in ISSS. Please note, however, that Ph.D. students at Emory must carry a minimum of twelve credit hours in order to maintain their graduate school funding. To request a reduced course load, F-1 students must complete the Less Than Full-Time Enrollment Request Form (F-1 Students) and J-1 students must complete the Less Than Full-Time Enrollment Request Form (J-1 Students).
