Decatur Road, Emory (Access from Fishburne Drive, off Clifton Road) COST: All events free and open to the public. Emory University is coordinating Earth Week events in honor of Earth Day April 22, an annual, world-wide event to promote environmental responsibility. For more information, call 404-727-4216. This year’s public events include: Thursday, April 18 Environmental Information Event 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., Dobbs Center Terrace, 605 Asbury Circle Several local and national environmental groups will be on hand to share information. Free food and live music also will be provided. Groups include the Friends of Emory Forest, Sierra Club, the Upper Chatahoochee Riverkeeper, Waste Not Georgia and many others. Sunday, April 21 Woods Walk 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Meet at the Peavine Deck surface parking lot, 27 Fraternity Row, Emory. Join the Friends of Emory Forest and the Ad Hoc Committee on Environmental Stewardship for a woods walk along Peavine Creek and other natural habitats around the Emory campus. Monday, April 22 – Earth Day Alternative Transportation Expo 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., Dobbs Center, 605 Asbury Circle Emory’s Office of Community Services will sponsor an electric vehicle display featuring its new Th!nk-shared car, Th!nk Neighbor low-speed electric vehicle, Chevy S-10 electric pick-up, and a Georgia Power electric bus. ###
