Prison Ministry Conference Presented by Emory's Candler School of Theology

James E. Donald, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Corrections, will be the keynote speaker at "When I Was in Prison: A Conference on Prison Ministries," sponsored by Emory University's Candler School of Theology. The regional conference will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at Cascade United Methodist Church in Atlanta. The events will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4 p.m.

Candler's Contextual Education Department has worked closely with Metro State Prison, a maximum security prison for women in the state of Georgia, to make the conference possible. The event will focus on the local church's opportunities in prison ministry, prison reform, advocacy and criminal justice. Testimonials from graduates serving in prison ministry will be a key element of the day.
