Legal Aftermath Of Sept. 11 Focus of Emory Law School Symposium

Emory University School of Law presents a seminar on the events of Sept. 11 and their impact on the law, institutions of government and business. The panel will focus on criminal, immigration, tax, administrative and constitutional law issues arising from the tragedy and its aftermath.

Panel members have extensive personal experience dealing with the repercussions of Sept. 11 including the detainees at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the impact on the airline industry and issues surrounding the government's efforts to cut the flow of money to terrorist organizations. Participating attorneys may qualify for two hours of continuing law education (CLE) credit.

The seminar is part of the law school's Law Alumni Weekend and one of two CLE programs for alumni that feature law school faculty and other noted experts. The school also is sponsoring a program on legal and ethical issues surrounding frozen embryos on Wednesday, March 20. The weekend draws hundreds of alumni back to campus each year for social and professional programs.
