Emory Experts Available to Comment on State of the Union Address

Nationally known expert on national politics and elections Alan Abramowitz can comment on how President Bush's State of the Union address will help define political issues that will be front-and-center during the 2004 campaign. Family law expert Martha Fineman, Woodruff Professor of Law, is available to discuss the President's marriage initiatives, including his recent proposal to spend $1.5 billion to strengthen the institution. Fineman is the author of "The Neutered Mother: The Sexual Family and Other Twentieth Century Myths" and the forthcoming "The Autonomy Myth: A Theory of Dependency." Michael Broyde, academic director of Emory's Law and Religion Program, can comment on President Bush's faith-based initiatives.
