Career Center Gets New Director

Emory University has appointed Paul Fowler as executive director of the Emory Career Center. Fowler joins Emory from Carnegie Mellon University where he most recently was the director of the career center there and associate dean of student affairs.

With more than 20 years of experience in higher education, Fowler has served in previous appointments as the director of international education, director of residential life and housing, and the director of student activities. He will begin his position at Emory on Aug. 11. Fowler earned his doctorate in higher education administration from the University of Virginia in 1996.

Emory's Career Center works to advise and assist the university's 12,500 students at all degree levels with career decision-making, employment opportunities, academic programs and internships. The center also works with employers and graduate schools seeking to recruit Emory students and alumni.
