The klieg lights will shine on the Emory campus Jan. 28 when the best of this year's iMovieFest creations hit the big screen during the iMovieNight Showcase. More than $3,200 in prizes will be awarded to the top movies.

For the second year in a row, more than 1,000 Emory students--armed with digital cameras and Apple's iMovie technology--worked in teams to create their own movies during the week of Jan. 15-21. The week-long movie-making frenzy fosters creative collaboration among students and is aimed at bringing residence hall-mates together to create compelling movies.

The event is coordinated by the Apple Student Core @ Emory (ASCE), which developed the first iMovieFest last year. ASCE is a student organization dedicated to using technology to enhance Emory and the surrounding community, including teaching computer skills to children in some Atlanta neighborhoods and schools. For more information, call 404-727-4871 or go to http://imoviefest.cc.emory.edu/asce.htm. The event is free and open to the public.
